SEMESTER BASED CREDIT and GRADING SYSTEM (SBCGS)

 1) Examinations in each semester are in two parts viz. part
A - INTERNAL EXAMINATION of 25 marks.
B - EXTERNAL EXAMINATION of 75 marks.

THEORY PAPERS - 100 Marks
PART - A INTERNAL ASSESSMENT 25 Marks
ONE CLASS TEST - 20 Marks 20 Marks
ACTIVE CLASS PARTICIPATION, MANNERISM etc. 5 Marks
PART B EXTERNAL-75 Marks (Duration 2.5 Hrs.)

2) The college will conduct internal and external examinations of semester I to IV on behalf of the     University of Mumbai.
3) While the college will also conduct INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS (25 Marks) of Semester V and VI     and EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS (75 Marks) will be conducted by the University of Mumbai.
    Marks of the INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS of semester V and VI will be submitted to the University     by the college for further processing.
4) The results of semester V and VI shall be declared by the University. The grade card shall be      issued by the University after converting the marks into appropriate grades.

The examination shall be conducted at the end of each semester.

ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS

A student is eligible to appear in the ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS only if:
5) Could not appear due to
i) Representing in sports/Cultural /NSS/NCC etc. on behalf of the college.*
ii) Hospitalised /under medication/Resting at home as per the advice of the doctor. (MEDICAL     CERTIFICATE/HOSPITAL DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE IS MUST).*
iii) Emergency beyond the control of the student.*
iv) It is not the right of the learner to appear for the additional test /examinations without fulfilling the     norms as prescribed by the I/C Principal.

* ALL THESE ARE SUBJECT TO SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS/TESTIMONIALS TO THE     SATIFACTION OF THE PRINCIPAL WITHIN 8 DAYS OF THE CONDUCT OF TEST /     EXAMINATIONS.

PASSING STANDARD 40 Marks out of 100 Marks
Internal 10 Marks out of 25 Marks
External 30 Marks out of 75 Marks.

THE MARKS OBTAINED AT THE INTERNAL ASSESSMENT AND EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE DECLAIRED TOGETHERLY.

PERFROMANCE GRADING:
The PERFORMANCE GRADING of the learners shall be on the SEVEN point ranking system as under:

PASSING STANDARD

The learners to pass a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination.

The learners shall obtain minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 10 out of 25) in the Internal Assessment and 40% marks in Semester End Examination (i.e. 30 Out of 75) separately, to pass the course and minimum of Grade E in each project, wherever applicable, to pass a particular semester. A learner will be said to have passed the course if the learner passes the Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination together.

Eligibility for Admission to all the Under Graduate Programs (aided and non-aided) in the Faculties of Arts and Commerce under Credit Based Semester and Grading System

d) Eligibility criteria for a learner, to be admitted in Semester V (Third year) of UG programs (aided and non-aided) in Faculties of Arts and Commerce is amended as follows,

i) Shall have passed Semester I, II, III and IV in full

OR

ii) Shall have passed Semester I and II in full and secured ATKT in the Second year by failing in not     more than Two Courses in each of Semester III and Semester IV

OR

iii) Shall have Secured ATKT in First Year by failing in not more than Two Courses in each of     Semester I and Semester II and have passed Semester III and Semester IV in full

e) A learner shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester VI irrespective of grades obtained in each     course of Semester V. The result of Semester VI shall be kept in abeyance until the learner passes     each of Semester I,Semester II, Semester III, Semester IV and Semester V in full.
