SEMESTER BASED CREDIT and GRADING SYSTEM (SBCGS)

 1) Examinations in each semester are in two parts viz. part
A - INTERNAL EXAMINATION of 40 marks.
B - EXTERNAL EXAMINATION of 60 marks.

THEORY PAPERS - 100 Marks
PART - A INTERNAL ASSESSMENT 40 Marks
ONE CLASS TEST - 20 Marks ONE ASSIGNMENT : 20 Marks
ACTIVE CLASS PARTICIPATION, MANNERISM etc. PRESENTATION : 10 Marks
  VIVA/ INTERACTION : 10 Marks
PART B EXTERNAL-60 Marks (Duration 2 Hrs.)

2) The college will conduct internal examinations of semester I to IV on behalf of the     University of Mumbai.
3) EXTERNAL EXAMINATIONS (60 Marks) will be conducted by the University of Mumbai.
4) The results of semester I and VI will be declared by the University. The grade card shall be      issued by the University after converting the marks into appropriate grades.

The examination shall be conducted at the end of each semester.


ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS

A student is eligible to appear in the ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS only if:
5) Could not appear due to
i) Representing in sports/Cultural /NSS/NCC etc. on behalf of the college.*
ii) Hospitalised /under medication/Resting at home as per the advice of the doctor. (MEDICAL     CERTIFICATE/HOSPITAL DISCHARGE CERTIFICATE IS MUST).*
iii) Emergency beyond the control of the student.*
iv) It is not the right of the learner to appear for the additional test /examinations without fulfilling the     norms as prescribed by the Principal.

* ALL THESE ARE SUBJECT TO SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS/TESTIMONIALS TO THE     SATIFACTION OF THE PRINCIPAL WITHIN 8 DAYS OF THE CONDUCT OF TEST /     EXAMINATIONS.

R.8436- A PASSING STANDARD AND PERFORMANCE GRADING
PASSING STANDARD 40 Marks out of 100 Marks
Internal 16 Marks out of 40 Marks
External 24 Marks out of 60 Marks.

THE MARKS OBTAINED AT THE INTERNAL ASSESSMENT AND EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE DECLAIRED TOGETHERLY.

PERFROMANCE GRADING:
The PERFORMANCE GRADING of the learners shall be on the SEVEN point ranking system as under:
Grade Marks Grade Points
O 70 & above 7
A 60 to 69.99 6
B 55 to 59.99 5
C 50 to 54.99 4
D 45 to 49.99 3
E 40 to 44.99 2
F (Fail) 39.99 & below 1

PASSING STANDARD

The learners to pass a course shall have to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate for each course where the course consists of Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination.

The learners shall obtain minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 16 out of 40) in the Internal Assessment and 40% marks in Semester End Examination (i.e. 24 Out of 60) separately, to pass the course and minimum of Grade E in each project, wherever applicable, to pass a particular semester. A learner will be said to have passed the course if the learner passes the Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination together.
