The Department of LifeLong Learning and Extension (DLLE) established on October 12, 1978 and has been recognized as a Statutory Department of University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the Universities and community. Now it has received recognition as one of the Teaching Department as per the decision of Management Council, University of Mumbai.
To facilitate the sensitization of the students to the socio-cultural realities, the Department offers the students, extension work projects encompassing social issues. The student is awarded 10 additional marks at the final exam for project on completion of 120 hours of work and submission of project report.
College has started with the extension work activity from year 2009-10
for B.Sc.I.T and B.M.S Department.Registration of students in extension activity started with 50 students and now it has increased to 200 students. The registration of students is increasing every year.
Every year DLLE conducts two trainings for extension teachers and students. Our college attains the training and conducts the same kind of training in college for all extension students by inviting field coordinator. One training is conducted in first term and second training is conducted in second term.
Extension committee conducted a training session for all F.Y.B.M.S. and F.Y.B.Sc.I.T. students. Field co-ordinator Dr. Somnath Vibhute was invited to give the training to students on 27th November, 2016. This training was specially conducted for F.Y. students to give them idea about smooth conduction of activity , file preparation & Udaan festival.
Till date college has undertaken multiple projects which includes APY (Anna Purna Yojana),CP (Career Project),IOP(Industry Orientation Project) ,PEC (Population Education Club) etc. by which we encourage students to try their hand in different fields.
To encourage student's, winner ofextension activity are selected by extension teacher and awarded with certificate & medals in college annual prize distribution function.
Every year our college students participates in UDAAN festival jointly organized by DLLE and Mumbai University. College provides choreographer for street play. College participates in street play and poster making competitions.
