About Us

Jashbhai Maganbhai Patel College of Commerce,(Known as J.M.Patel College) was founded in the Academic Year 1988-89 (Nearly 30 years) by the Sanskardham Kelavani Mandal (SKM) which was established in the year 1959 ( Nearly 60 years back), it’s permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai. All the institution under the Umbrella of SKM, is spread out in the Campus of 2.09 acre.

Beside being affiliated to the University of Mumbai, It has also been now, registered as Minority College from 03rd April 2019. It’s recognised under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. It’s Academic Audit was conducted by the University and has considered fit college, for Autonomy. It has been reaccredited with CGPA of 2.79 at Grade B by NAAC in the year January 2011. It will now again reapply for accreditation during the Academic year 2019-2020.

The College offers 3 year integrated courses in B.Com; B.A.F; B.M.S and B.Sc (IT). It has got good well-ventilated Classroom and other activities area and rooms with proper ambience for all round development of the students. It has proper functional IT Laboratory and last but not the least, a proper Qualified and competent faculty, with wide range of practical experience. Beside, Principal, the Management has also appointed, Administrator to take care of the maintenance of Quality in Education System. All activities are carried out in proper spirit of Statutes and Ordinances of Mumbai University from time to time.

The Students can learn and imbibe various qualities, needed in interesting life by active participant in following manner: -

Top priority is accorded to classroom as well as online learning by use of technology to the best maximum extent possible.
Get hands on training in number of subjects, through various practical and vocational courses and competition of Academical nature.
Students has opportunities and options to take part in N.S.S ; NCC (in MOU with other college) ; DLLE (Distance of Lifelong Learning and Extension); Sports; Rotaract Club; Various Associations, number of ex-students who joined as Shy students have grown to be the leaders in the Societies.

Enough care is being taken for need and intelligent students, so that limitation of finance should not stop their progress in the life, thus college provided financial assistance to such students in the following manner: -

Subsidy and other financial helps through various bodies and / or organisation.
College has Earn and Learn Scheme which available to Students, of not only learn but also earn in process.
Instalment facilities are given to selective students.
College has The Placement and Career Guidance cell.

College has System of Mentor-Mentee, whereby each professor guide, on an average guide 50 to 60 Students in technical as well as non-technical aspects of the life. College has qualified counsellor in charge of the Personal Counselling Centre.
